Hair loss isn't a beauty problem. It's a condition you can treat.
Almost every man and one in three women will experience it at some point. The pattern is usually recognisable; how fast it moves and where it stops differs from person to person. Those who come early generally have more options.
That's why every journey with us starts with an examination, and only then with a plan. We look at your scalp, your hair density and the stage of your hair loss, and only then do we talk about treatment: stabilising first where possible, restoring surgically where needed.
What you can expect from us
Five things we hold ourselves to, from the first conversation to the last check-up.
- Examination first, advice second. We map your scalp, your hair density and your donor area before we propose anything at all.
- The right amount, not the most. More grafts isn't always better. Your donor area has to last a lifetime.
- No is also an answer. If a transplant isn't the right choice now, we say so. And explain what does help.
- One fixed amount. What's in your treatment plan is what you pay. Everything included.
- The person who operates on you is the person you see again. For twelve months, with check-ups and photos.
What we can help you with
Two tracks, one plan. Which treatment comes first follows from the examination, not from an offer.

Who you'll be dealing with
One doctor who follows your entire journey, backed by the multidisciplinary medical team of Cosmipolis.

Dr Maurits De Wolf
- DegreesMedicine and dentistry
- TrainingBelgium and the Netherlands
- FocusFUE hair transplantation, hairline design, repair transplants, medical treatment of hair loss
- LanguagesDutch, English, French
A hairline isn't a line on a head. It helps define the proportions of a face. Dr De Wolf holds degrees in both medicine and dentistry. Dentistry is where the handwork in the face comes from, at the scale of millimetres; medicine provides the framework around it.
He brings that background to hair surgery. He doesn't just look at how many grafts are needed, but at where they should go so that in ten years they still fit your face and your further hair loss.
He studied and worked in Belgium and the Netherlands, and leads the medical work of Haarkliniek Brugge. He tells you what is achievable, and just as clearly what isn't.
Where are you on the Norwood scale?
Male hair loss almost always follows the same pattern. The Norwood-Hamilton scale divides it into seven stages. Knowing your stage changes the conversation with a doctor: more concrete, with the right expectations.
Full hairline
No or barely any recession.
Slight recession
The hairline recedes a little at the temples.
Clear recession
The first stage that counts as baldness.
Temples + crown
The crown starts thinning too.
Front and crown
Two areas, separated by a bridge of hair.
Bridge narrows
Front and crown areas approach each other.
Areas merge
Hair remains only at the sides and back.
Horseshoe
A narrow band of hair around the back of the head.
What people ask us first
Does the first consultation cost anything?
Yes, the consultation with digital hair analysis and scalp examination is paid. If you go ahead with a treatment afterwards, that amount is deducted from the price of the procedure. We charge for the consultation because we really do take the time: expect the best part of an hour with the doctor, not a ten-minute sales pitch.
How much does a hair transplant cost in Belgium?
That depends on the number of grafts you need, and we only know that once a doctor has assessed your donor area and your stage. In practice it usually comes to between 1,500 and 4,500 grafts, depending on how much area you want to restore and what your donor area responsibly allows.
What we do promise in advance: after the consultation you get one fixed amount in writing, including VAT, anaesthetic, aftercare kit and twelve months of follow-up. No supplements afterwards, and no decision you have to make on the spot.
What exactly am I paying for?
For a doctor's time, not for a package. Dr De Wolf designs your hairline and performs the critical steps of the procedure himself, and we schedule one patient per day so nobody has to rush.
On top of that, the aftercare is included: twelve months of follow-up with check-ups and photo documentation. Anaesthetic, medication for the first days, the aftercare kit and VAT are all in the amount. What we agree in your treatment plan is what you pay.
How long will I be out of action?
Office work is usually possible after three to five days, physical work after about ten days. During the first week the treated area is visible (small scabs and some redness). After ten to fourteen days that's gone. Light exercise after one week, intensive exercise after two to three weeks. The journey page has a day-by-day timeline.
When will I see results?
Later than most people think. The transplanted hairs largely fall out after two to six weeks (that's normal; the follicle stays in place). From the third or fourth month new growth starts. After six months you see a clear difference; the final result is judged after twelve months. That's why our follow-up runs that long.
Am I a good candidate?
That depends on three things: whether your hair loss is stable enough, whether your donor area has enough strong hair, and whether your expectations match what's achievable. We assess that during the consultation. Sometimes the answer is that it's still too early, or that your hair loss needs to stabilise for six months before we can plan. That's not a rejection; it's the right order.
Look first, then decide
Every journey starts with a consultation in which we map your scalp, your hair density and your stage. Only then do we talk about what makes sense. And if the answer is 'wait a little longer', we'll say so.
